Learn More About Crescent Homes Proven Process andBuilding Timeline For New Homes

Designing a brand new home is an exciting time and one that should be as stress free as possible for the homebuyer. Crescent Homes, the premier Charleston, SC new home builder, has a proven, reliable construction process guided by our team of experienced professionals that will stand side by side with you throughout your entire home development. After picking your perfect homesite and floorplan, and once you have signed the contract, this is what you can expect step-by-step from Crescent Homes:

Pre-Construction Meeting – We understand the importance of individual style and during the pre-construction phase you will choose interior features such as colors, flooring and countertops, and any upgrades you want to personalize your home. Prior to construction, you will meet with your project manager and new home build team for a pre-construction meeting to review floorplans; plot and placement; and approve colors, finishes and upgrades to ensure your home will be built to your specifications.

Construction Begins – The exciting part begins, the construction of your new home. During this time there will be a number of steps, including laying the foundation, framing (which includes the addition of radiant barrier sheathing to keep your home cooler) and the mechanical stages to place roofing, windows, doors, rough-in electrical and the HVAC system. Your project manager will provide weekly updates throughout this stage to keep you abreast of what has been completed.

Pre-Drywall Meeting– Prior to the walls going up and the remainder of your new home’s construction, you will meet with your project manager to review work to date and plan for electrical outlets, phone and cable outlet, as well as verify placement of the tub, shower and appliances.

Final Construction– Your new home will really begin to take shape now. Your walls go up and insulation is installed at this time. The build will also be tested for the HERS Rating to ensure optimal energy efficiency. Final exterior work will be completed, including the install of vinyl or fiber cement siding, decks railings and garage doors, followed by interior trim and painting. Then it is all about the details and finishing touches. From lighting fixtures to countertops and flooring, this is when you’ll see your home turn into the masterpiece you’ve envisioned. You will continue to have weekly updates and your project manager and third party quality inspector will also conduct QA checks during this phase to ensure your entire home meets or exceeds construction standards.

Homeowner Orientation Meeting – Your new home is ready! It’s time to meet with your project manager to review the entire home and landscaping, learn how your new appliances work and go over a warranty review. Following your homeowner orientation meeting, you will close on your new home and begin a two-week walk process to ensure everything is working properly.

Review Warranty - After living in your home for two weeks, you’ll transition into the warranty phase of your home. A warranty representative will contact you to set up a time to discuss the types of warranty categories and how to file a claim should the need arise.

The Crescent Homes proven home building process ensures that your new home is all that you dreamed it would be. To learn more about Crescent Homes communities and other new homes for sale Charleston, SC, feel free to contact us at info@crescenthomes.net, or call our office directly at 843.573.9635.
