Indigo Palms: Marinas - Water Activities

If you are planning a move to the Charleston area, there is a good chance you already have a boat or will be purchasing one in the near future. Charleston and North Charleston are built around the water, and mild year-round temperatures are constantly beckoning hardworking locals out of their homes and onto the waves. Choosing from the many North Charleston homes for sale means deciding which property will give you easy access to local marinas and maritime pastimes. Whether you enjoy water skiing, tubing, deep sea fishing or leisurely sailing, the Crescent Homes in beautiful Indigo Palms are always just a 20-minute drive to your favorite water activities and world-class marinas. These are some of the most popular marinas in the greater Charleston area.

Charleston City Marina
The award-winning Charleston City Marina is conveniently located in downtown Charleston approximately 20 minutes from Indigo Palms. In 2005, Marina Dock Age Magazine presented the marina with the honor of National Marina of the Year in part due to its massive dock that spreads over 40 aquatic acres. The mega-dock, which was built in 2003, is the longest, free-standing floating dock in the U.S. A floating bathhouse is especially popular with patrons, as it contains private showers and changing areas, as well as immaculately clean bathrooms consistent with the marina’s accolades and recognition. The Charleston City Marina is highly secure and features a 24-hour dock office that offers complimentary transportation each hour to the surrounding downtown Charleston area. The marina is also a short 10 to 15 minute walk from the historic district, where boaters can grab a quick lunch before getting back on the water. The Charleston City Marina has green certification from the state thanks to its convenient recycling areas and local pump out station. A convenience store is also located near the entrance of the property, where boaters can pick up refreshments and snacks before setting sail.

The Bristol Marina
One of downtown Charleston’s newest marinas, The Bristol Marina on the Ashley River is quickly gaining popularity among the locals. It is equipped with many of the most up to date and customer-requested amenities, as well as customer service that is second to none. Each of the 148 wet slips includes 30 and 50 amp service, cable and water. Other amenities include mobile pump out service and shower and bathroom facilities located onsite. Because many Charleston area boaters spend their summers on the water, The Bristol Marina is the perfect location to gather with friends to watch a colorful sunset or the seasonal fireworks at the home baseball games of the Charleston Riverdogs each year. There is also a gazebo on the property that serves as a perfect location for birthday parties, reunions or other events. The marina is highly flexible with its rates, offering month to month, six-month and annual payment plans.

The Harborage at Ashley Marina is a newly renovated docking area located in downtown Charleston. Living just a 20-minute drive away in Indigo Palms means you can pop over for a Sunday morning cruise or a Saturday evening sunset voyage at the drop of a hat. There are 230 wet slips at the marina serving vessels of all sizes up to 150 feet long. Diesel and gasoline pumps are available onsite, as is pump out service. Customers appreciate free Wi-Fi throughout the marina, cable television in every boat slip, updated shower and bathrooms, a picnic area and onsite laundry services as well.
