1. Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens

Open to the public since 1956, Boone Hall Plantation is a gorgeous property that hosts everything from the Annual Oyster Festival and Halloween Fright Nights, to private events, weddings concerts and more on its nearly 740 acres of pristine land.


2. Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park

Called the “crown jewel of Mount Pleasant” by most, this waterfront attraction boasts fantastic views of the Ravenel Bridge, Patriots Point and more. Enjoy a picnic, playground for the kids, or just take in the atmosphere on one of the park swings.


3. Palmetto Islands County Park

Part of the Charleston County Parks and Recreation network, this 943-acre area includes seasonal access to Splash Island Waterpark, boat access, nature trails, a 50-foot lookout tower and so much more.


4. Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA

A premiere campground that’s part of the national KOA network, this space features a free wagon wagon tour of its nearly 380-acre property. You can also hike the miles of nature trails or go off the grid and explore some the more hidden areas. 


5. Charles Pinckney National Historic Site

Registered with the National Park Service, the Charles Pinckney National Historic Site is the perfect place to take a step back in time and explore the architectural and cultural wonders of the South. It’s also close to other historic sites, like Fort Moultrie and Fort Sumter.


6. Mt. Pleasant Pier

If you venture deeper into Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park, you’ll hit the Mt. Pleasant Pier. This 1250-foot stretch of paradise ends at a 8,100 sq. ft. pavilion that features a gift shop and hosts seasonal events throughout the year.


7. Patriots Point

Attracting over 270,000 visitors a year, Patriots Point was established in 1970 to create a maritime history museum for the City of Charleston, with the USS Yorktown being the centerpiece.
