Old Santee Canal Park is the first canal that began operating in the early 1800s and was the primary source of transportation for the settlers to move the goods created in the Lowcountry such as cotton and indigo. Much of the canal is now under Lake Moultrie but certain sections are still visible. Spend the day learning more about Berkeley County and the importance of water transportation to the early settlers of Moncks Corner.
